Apr 2, 2024 - Prof. Yip has been honored with the prestigious 2023 Hong Kong Engineering Science and Technology (HKEST) Award for his groundbreaking contributions to materials science, specifically in pioneering new printable solar cell technologies. This accolade underscores his role as a leading innovator in engineering. (link)

Oct 18, 2023 - Congratulations!Prof. Yip has been elected as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) for his contributions to the field of solution-processed optoelectronic materials and devices.!

Oct 14, 2023 - Congratulations!Prof. Yip has received the prestigious IUMRS Frontier Materials Young Scientists Award for his advancements in materials research for photovoltaic and optoelectronic technologies. The award was presented to him during the International Conference on Frontier Materials (ICFM) 2023, organized by the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS).

Oct 14, 2023 - Our research article,"Charge injection engineering at organic/inorganic heterointerfaces for high-efficiency and fast-response perovskite light-emitting diodes", is now published in Nature Communication. (here).

Oct 13, 2022Hong Kong PHD Fellowship is now opened for application. Highly qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for the Hong Kong PHD Fellowship Scheme with our group. The fellowship  aims at providing strong support to the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong's universities.

Aug 5, 2022 - Our review article,"New Prospects for Organic Photovoltaics", is now published in Chemical Reviews (here). It covers the important development of new OPV materials and device concepts over the past 5 years, with particular highlights on the Y6-series non-fullerene acceptors development, which led to the recent breakthrough of OPV efficiency to ~20%. Our original paper published with Prof. Zou on Y6 has also received 3000 citations in just ~ 3 years! Big congratulations to Prof. Zou.

Feb 1, 2022 - Prof. Yip is assigned as the Associate Director for Hong Kong Institute for Clean Energy (HKICE), which vision is to be a global leader in promoting cutting-edge research, education, and technology development in clean energy to tackle challenges on global net-zero carbon emission. Jan 1, 2022 - Prof. Yip is selected as a member of Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences (YASHK) for 2022. YASHK was established in 2018 and its objective is to gather young scientists to jointly promote the development of science and technology in Hong Kong. Congratulations!

Nov 16, 2021 - Prof. Yip has been selected as Highly Cited Researchers 2021 in the category of Materials Science [Source from Clarivate Analytics]. Congratulations!

Oct 5, 2021 - Congratulations to Prof. Su and Prof. Peng on their publications of the breakthrough results for champion perovskite LEDs with EQE > 28% (Adv. Mater.) and inkjet-printed full-color perovskite LEDs (ACS Appl. Mater. & Interfaces), respectively. Our group is glad to have the opportunity to contribute to those interesting work. 
 

Mar 17, 2021 - Our PeLED review paper entitled "Materials, Photophysics and Device Engineering of Perovskite Light-Emitting Diodes" is now online in Reports on Progress in Physics. Congratulation to Ziming, Zhenchao and our collaborators Tom and Artem!

Feb 5,  2021 - In a recent TV program "Futurescope", Prof. Yip and Prof. Alex Jen had talked about the challenges of solar energy applications in a megacity likes Hong Kong, highlighting the importance of the development of new generation photovoltaic technology that are more suitable to integrate with buildings to promote more efficient use of solar power in city. Apr 7, 2021 - Congratulations to Tianqi! His review paper entitled "Advances in Dion-Jacobson phase two-dimensional metal halide perovskite solar cells" is now published in Nanophotonics. It is an open access article and you can freely download here!

May 10, 2020 - Prof. Hin-Lap Yip had participated in the "Perovskite Online Forum" organized by Solar RRL and gave a presentation entitled "Molecularly Engineered Interfaces in Perovskite Materials and Devices". Now the presentation video is available online. (video presentation)








Apr 29, 2020 - Our collaboration paper on the ground-breaking OPV materials with Prof. Yingping Zou@Central South University is ranked #1 in citations for all the papers in Joule. Congrats Yingping again for the great achievement!
